More than 50 years of experience, the third generation,… the company Dewulf is a concept in the field of specialized harvesters. Of course we could not achieve this on our own. Dewulf has grown thanks to an enthusiastic group of older as well as younger employees, professional suppliers, but above all thanks to the customer’s confidence in our products. |
Grown from agriculture and technique
In the beginning
Due to his technical interest Robert Dewulf started in 1946 at the age of 25 welding ploughs in the barn of his father’s farm. Soon he started constructing potato harvesters, which were drawn by a horse. Afterwards the tractor took the place of the horse.
Development
Due to the historical presence and the strong concentration of the vegetable industry in the surroundings of Roeselare, there was a great demand for Dewulf harvesters for other kinds of vegetables. In the 1960s the range was enlarged with mechanically driven carrot, leek and chicory harvesters. In 1975 we started with the production of sugar beet loaders. |

Awards and new impulses
Technical progress
After the sudden decease of the founder and the inspirer in 1979, a close and very experienced group of employees ensured the continuation of the company in the 1980s. Technically speaking this meant the achieval of the famous “Golden Spike” on the Brussels Agricultural Fair in 1990. Dewulf received this prestigious award for the development of the revolutionary three-wheeled potato harvester R3000S. In the meantime the company had moved to a much larger factory in the Moorseelsesteenweg. |
Alternation of generations
At the end of the 1980s Rika Dewulf came into the family business and so she formed the second generation. New impulses ensured a further development of the export market and a fundamental modernization of the company in the 1990s. At the beginning of the 21st century Hendrik and Karel Decramer formed the third generation. Assisted by the experienced employees and supported by Rika they ensure a further continuation and growth of the company. |
